Sofiah Shazali

Sofiah joined the Board in 2020 and brings over ten years of experience in financial services and eight years in technology. She graduated with an MSc in International Business from Grenoble Graduate Business School and has built her career at the intersection of finance, technology, and responsible innovation. She is currently working as a Senior Manager in Artificial Intelligence, leading enterprise‑wide AI strategy, enablement, and governance.

She has a deep understanding of how organisations adopt emerging technologies and the operational, ethical, and governance challenges that come with it. Her experience spans wealth management, asset management, consultancy, and enterprise transformation, giving her strong insight into market trends, risk, compliance, and the practical realities of delivering change at scale.

In her current role, she develops responsible AI governance frameworks, designs structures and processes that strengthen accountability, and supports teams in improving operational efficiency. She works across multiple business areas, advising on ethical technology adoption, intelligent automation, and the impact of digital transformation on people, processes, and organisational outcomes. She also provides strategic direction to senior leaders and C‑suite executives on how AI capabilities can be leveraged to drive value, manage risk, and support long‑term organisational strategy.

Alongside her professional responsibilities, she serves as Co‑Lead of Fidelity’s Muslim Community, contributing to DEI initiatives and cultural inclusion.

Sofiah is passionate about strengthening governance, improving organisational effectiveness, and giving back to communities through meaningful, values‑driven leadership.
